The problem
Small and mid-sized businesses wait weeks to be paid on their invoices. The platform lets them unlock that cash early through several financing products, without leaving the accounting software they already use.
My role
Tech lead in a team of 7+ developers. I worked on the system architecture and infrastructure design, ran code reviews, mentored engineers and handled incident response.
Approach
- Built a cloud-native platform on AWS (VPC, ECS, S3), defined as code with Terraform, AWS CDK and AWS Pipelines.
- Integrated banking and accounting systems (ANZ, Xero, MYOB) to automate transactions and invoicing workflows.
- Broke a monolith into separate products using the Strangler Fig pattern.
- Designed a fine-grained authorization system with OpenFGA.
- Upgraded a legacy Node.js codebase and migrated it to TypeScript.
- Set up CI/CD (Bitbucket + AWS) with quality gates in SonarCloud, ESLint and Prettier.
